The significance of the Battle of Vinegar Hill cannot be overestimated, not only was it the last stand of the rebels in County Wexford but it was also one of the last pitched battles to take place on Irish soil. The brave Wexford rebels took on the might of the Crown forces on the longest day of the year, 21 June. The battle involved six hours of ferocious fighting which resulted in the loss of 1500 lives. This tour of the historic Vinegar Hill battlefield will provide an in-depth overview of the events of 21 June 1798.
