The 1798 Summer School will take place on the 21st June 2025 at the National 1798 Rebellion Centre with a series of walks, talks and presentations about one of the most historically significant events in the country’s history. Our engaging speakers will be announced shortly.
Our program of events are as follows:
- 10:00am ‘Enniscorthy 1798 Walking Tour’ with Barry Lacey
Start and finish at the 1798 Centre, €10pp - 12:00pm ‘The underlying political and philosophical factors
that led to the 1798 Irish Rebellion, with a focus on
Wexford.’ with Dr. Elaine Callinan, €5pp - 1-2pm INTERMISSION
- 2:00pm ‘The Battle of New Ross’ with Myles Courtney, €5pp
- 3:00pm ‘The Elmes Family Letters’ – a personal account of 1798
with Dr. Ida Milne, €5pp - 4:30pm ‘Vinegar Hill – survey of a battlefield’ with Jacqui Hynes
